The Youth Life Learning Center is an outreach ministry of Bethel World Outreach Church.

ABOUT US

History
In 2002, a group of local church and business leaders joined together to do something special for inner-city children in Nashville. Helping lead the way was Tim Johnson, an NFL all-pro defensive end and member of the Washington Redskins’s 1988 Super Bowl championship team. His close friend and teammate, Darrell Green, had established the first Youth Life Learning Center in 1993 as an after-school program for children in urban Washington, DC. The Nashville group, incorporated as Youth Life Foundation of Tennessee, Inc. in March 2001, began the process of renovating a 3,000 square-foot facility. With the help of Darrell Green, Youth Life Foundation, and in a partnership with Village West Property Management, the West Nashville Youth Life Learning Center opened its doors on January 7, 2002.

Purpose
The primary purpose of the Youth Life Learning Center (YLLC) is to empower students for life and to train up a generation of leaders who are excellent in word and deed.

We do this by providing children with these four basic building blocks: Provision, Nurturing, Education, and a Moral Compass. The overarching goal is to assist youth so they may become well-adjusted adults, able to contribute to society in a healthy manner.

It’s the fundamental belief that YLLC influences and helps parents raise a generation that will impact the dynamics of our nation. We prepare students to stand up for righteousness, overcome the challenges they face, and provide responsible leadership among their peers. YLLC enables and empowers students to see the tremendous possibility that resides within themselves and glean a sense of their ability to make a positive difference and contribute to society in a meaningful way. YLLC students are excellent leaders who can withstand pressure from their peers and overcome challenges within their community.
