Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

Bethel World Outreach Church is proud to host DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K). These groups are scheduled weekly throughout the year, each class meets for 15-weeks at a time.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DivorceCare is currently meeting online via Zoom. To join these meetings, please email

What happens at meetings?

A Seminar with Experts
During the first 30–40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies, and an on-location video.

A Support Group with Focus
After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.

Group Leadership

The leadership team for DivorceCare at Bethel consists of people who understand how you feel and have a real concern for individuals who are experiencing separation and divorce.

Our DivorceCare leaders have been through divorce themselves and are examples of the healing and restoration that can occur after the breakup of a marriage.

DivorceCare - Surviving the Holidays

Help and hope as you navigate the Christmas season
Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated?

Our Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially for people who are separated and divorced. You’ll learn:

  • How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays.
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events.
  • Ways to give your kids a good holiday experience.
  • How to discover hope for your future.

Here’s what happens at a Surviving the Holidays seminar
A Surviving the Holidays event lasts for about two hours on a Saturday morning — once before Thanksgiving and once before Christmas. You’ll be welcomed by warm, caring people who understand what you are going through and who want to help. During the seminar, you will:

  1. Watch a 40-minute video, filled with practical holiday survival tips and the real-life stories of people who have navigated the season after separation and divorce.
  2. Hear other seminar attendees explain how they are dealing with the holidays.
  3. Have the opportunity to share how separation or divorce is affecting you. (No pressure—this is optional. We want you to feel comfortable.)
  4. Receive a personal copy of the DivorceCare Holiday Survival Guide.

Need DivorceCare (DC4K) for Kids?

Your kids may feel scared, sad, and confused after your divorce. They know you have been hurt deeply. As a result, they may hide their feelings because they are worried about your happiness or because they do not know how to express their feelings appropriately. DC4K helps them process those feelings and gives them tools to communicate better with you.

What is DC4K?

DC4K provides your children with a safe and neutral place to gain an age-appropriate understanding of separation and divorce. They will learn how to process and share their feelings.

For 13 weeks, your children become involved in a fun, caring group that meets near you. The weekly session topics help your children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness to hope and their anger to joy.

Each session is filled with motivating and exciting activities. Games, crafts, role playing, discussion times, journaling, and activity books help your children process the divorce and move forward in their lives. The music, snacks, read-aloud stories, exercises, and Bible verses teach your children to relax and rest secure in God’s love. The Kids Like Me and Stories from the Bible video dramas present stories of children just like your children, who are experiencing divorce-related problems and have found help and encouragement.

DC4K is designed for kids 5–12 years of age. If your child is 5 they must be in Kindergarten already to participate. Children look forward to each time their “DC4K family” gets together. Start your children on the road to healing today and connect them with their very own DC4K family!

Who are the DC4K leaders?

The leadership team for Bethel’s DivorceCare for Kids consists of people who share a genuine concern about the way divorce is affecting your children now and in the future. The DC4K team encourages children, builds relationships, and presents skills to maneuver through the rough places of divorce, while pointing students to Jesus as their healer.

DC4K leaders have an excitement for the DC4K program and have participated in leadership training. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering and serving as a leader in this ministry please click below.
